When files and folders can't be moved
When an item cannot be moved from one bloon to another, the typical cause is that the folder or underlying file has been locked for use by another app. In Windows, for example, if an underlying file is open in Microsoft Word or Powerpoint, it will be locked; there will be no way to move the item. Simply quitting Word or Powerpoint, though, will release the file, freeing the item to be moved on the next attempt.
Here are some other reasons an item might not be movable:
- The hard drive where the target bloon folder is stored is full (and can't be written to).
- The target bloon folder is located on an external hard drive, which was unplugged while the item was in the process of being moved.
